Today some nursing floor residents had a visit to the salon. Matina worked her magic and the ladies felt rejuvenated.
The poetry group has re-joined and today’s project was to create a poem on the subject of holidays. Working together residents and staff created an acrostic poem, which will be displayed as part of our Dementia Action Week Arts Exhibition!

Lots of smiles in the home today as Sharon has been keeping the resident's minds and bodies active! From their morning games to a private dining experience to an afternoon cinema movie, they sure have been busy!
The weather may have been rather grey but spirits have not been dampened as we celebrated VE Day at Leycester House.
Residents enjoyed a themed lunch, complete with an identity card and ration book!
A fun game, guess the sweets in the jar followed by some music from the proms.
This afternoon will be flag-waving and singalongs to mark the occasion.

With a guess of 162 against the actual number of 157.
All residents took part, so well done to all but Anne was the closest.

So today marks the start of Dementia Action Week. The fabulous activity team, along with the residents & their loved ones have created a wonderful gallery of their old photographs and new artwork ‘reminiscing of their past travels’ with a few poems written too!
So lovely for our residents to enjoy a game of bingo on a rainy day
