Cheese and wine tasting
Last week, we held a brilliant event here at Leycester House, dedicated to cheese and wine! We’re huge fans of both halves of this perfect partnership, so it was a pleasure to hand out all sorts of different cheeses for everyone to try, along with a wide variety of wines from around the world. We’ll most definitely be holding another night like this in the future, so keep an eye out to find out when it might be!

September Events at Leycester House
Well, do we have a great month planned here at Leycester House! September’s going to be great, as we have four fantastic events lined up for you here in our care home in Warwick.

On Thursday 5th September, Marcus is coming to see us all – he never fails to put on a good show, so we can’t wait to welcome him back here at Leycester House.

Next up is Sam Southall on Thursday 12th; Sam’s another Leycester House favourite, singing all sorts of songs that we know and love.

On 19th September, we have a familiar face coming to Leycester House but for the first time ever on a Thursday evening! It’s Tony Sparks, who is well-liked by residents here and is a very talented performer.

Rounding off the month is Richard King, a popular entertainer here at Leycester House in Warwick! We really hope you can join us.

All events take place from 6.30-8.30pm and as always, entertainment and refreshments are complimentary. Please RSVP to or call 01926 357210 to let us know you’re coming along. We hope to see you very soon!

Pottery party
One of our favourite monthly activities is our pottery party! This activity really gets everyone’s creative juices flowing, and residents have the opportunity to showcase their talent. We not only enjoy pottery but also painting and drawing! It’s a great social event and residents love showing off their creations to visiting friends and family members each week.

A day out at Moseley Old Hall
On Tuesday, we went all the way to Moseley for a fabulous day out – we visited the National Trust’s Moseley Old Hall! It’s a beautiful building, an Elizabethan farmhouse with so many stories to tell. In fact, Moseley Old Hall actually saved King Charles II in 1651 after he fled the battle of Worcester; Cromwell’s troops came looking for him but didn’t find him hiding in the priest hole. Everyone found it incredibly interesting learning all about the farmhouse’s rich history.

The gardens are beautiful, including an intricate knot garden, and the café is wonderful. We spent our day looking around the house and gardens, finishing off with a nice lunch in the tearoom.

Lollipop Ponies
On 15th August, Lollipop Ponies came back to Leycester House! We absolutely love it when the ponies come to visit, and it’s great to see the people living here grinning from ear to ear. The ponies enjoy visiting residents in the bistro, and they can even trot along to residents’ bedrooms too! It’s always a great day when Lollipop Ponies come to play.

August Events at Leycester House
We have four great events lined up for you this coming month at Leycester House, starting on Thursday 1st August! Our first act of the month is the well-loved Paulo Pinto, who is coming back to dazzle us all again with his English, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese singing - what a treat.

The following week, Bob Gessey will be here once again - Bob is an outstanding guitarist and vocalist who reproduces a fantastic interpretation of classic songs. We're sure tonight will be another wonderful evening with Bob.

On Thursday 15th August, Russell T. Smith will be joining us, singing the songs of Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, Elvis and Buddy Holly! We really hope you can join us and welcome Russell to Leycester House.

Last but not least, we have Ben Murphy here with us on Thursday 22nd August. Ben is back by popular demand and we really can't wait to hear him sing here in our home once again.

We hope you can come and join us for our August events. As always, entertainment and refreshments are complimentary but please do RSVP to or 01926 357210.

Carers Garden Open Day
Under summer skies and glorious sunshine Leycester House celebrated the opening of our beautiful sensory garden. This garden was generously donated by a former resident's husband in memory of his late wife and is somewhere that both the Residents and carers can enjoy for years to come. Families, residents and community all came together to enjoy the day.  We also raised money for a lovely young girl called Connie whose family are raising funds for specialised medical treatment. Our Staff came together for a sponsored "one performance only" of a Spice Girls Tribute which had to be seen to be believed! A fantastic day was had by all.

Our stunning new sensory garden
If you’ve been to our home recently, you’ll no doubt have seen that a lot has been happening in our garden area over the last month or so! We’re creating a sensory garden, which will really benefit our residents and will just look and smell simply beautiful.

The sensory garden is now at its final stages, and we’re pleased to say that its Grand Opening will be held at our summer BBQ on 30th June. We can’t wait! We really hope you can come along and see the new garden in all its glory.
