On Wednesday, we took four residents out on a trip to Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery – and what a trip it was. From 26th May until 9th September, none other than Dippy the Dinosaur was on exhibition.

Dippy is a plaster cast replica of a Diplodocus skeleton that measures in at 21.3 metres long, 4.3 metres wide and 4.25 metres wide, drawing people into the museum in their thousands.

Although Dippy’s time in Birmingham has now ended, he is continuing his tour of the UK and is now in Ulster Museum, moving to Glasgow in January, Newcastle-upon-Tyne in May, Cardiff in October, then Rochdale and finally, Norwich, with the tour ending in October 2020.

Jack, Germaine, Michael and Margaret, along with the staff who travelled with them to Birmingham, all agree that this is possibly the best trip we have done at Leycester House to date!
